MTA: Do they really worth the price tag?

Leakage At Fulton Street Subway Stop from Gothamist

Hello everybody and welcome back to a late edition of Victor's Space. If you are reading for the first time and like what you read, just enter your e mail address on the box on top of my picture and you will be able to receive this blog every time I publish. During the whole year of the existence of this blog I do my best to stay away from anything negative, but when negativity hit you close, you don't have other choice.
Last Week I was into a lot of activities and didn't have a time to think on what to write for you. On Wednesday I was running away from the rain, it caught me and the group I was with outside. We sheltered at the Winter Garden in Battery park city a beautiful place. If I knew what was ahead, I should have stayed outside in the rain. As we got a break, we ran to MTA Fulton Street (1,2,3,4,5, A,C, J,Z) station trying to catch a train home and trying to stay away from the rain. As I made my way down to the A,C platform a companion and me get greeted by two green vested MTA worker flagging us to the center of the platform. I hated the fact I didn't have my camera with me and the batteries of my phone were dead as well. What I saw is the same thing the people from Gothamist blog saw and what you would see if you please click "play".... Did you see it? we didn't have umbrella, we were not expecting any rain on Wednesday Aug 10th. But apparently MTA wasn't expecting rain at all.
That station is near future WTC 1 (liberty tower) and future WTC 4, 911 memorial park. Boasts high end shops like Century 21, also a concert hall in the shape of Winter Garden, the terminal for the ferry to liberty island. You can see, is a highly turistic area and is a can't miss stop for many tourists, very likely the first stop. Yet Is this the face MTA make the city of New York greet tourists and Newyorkers?
When I go to interviews for any job, I'm looking to meet someone very important, a business trip. I always have a nice suit and a nice tie on, well groomed. The purpose is to make a nice first impression. However MTA is not interested in that. I would tell you what's going on here and then I would tell you my plan of action if I was MTA president. While the average minimum wage for the city of NY is 7.15, that wage is unacceptable, you could possibly get 10 and hour in most jobs. HOWEVER the minimum wage at MTA is 18 dollars an hour in some cases just to sweep the station and keep buses clean (never succeed at that) some workers end up as high as 23 an hour that's triple the minimum wage of the city. In the past 9 years the MTA have introduced us to a bunch of cool gadgets MTA introduced R142 in early 2000's for the #2, 4 and 5 line, R142A for the 4 and 6, R143 for the L line. Later on we get R160 for the L, M, N, Q, W(defunct line) R, J, E and F these trains help you not to get lost because they provided clear recorded messages as well as display you the message including what stop you are at and what's next stop. That's pretty cool stuff isn't it?
A count down clock in the Bronx displays the arrival of the next 2 #6 train

Traveling the subway two years ago I got surprised that the L line was telling the riders when the next train was arriving. It was shocking to me. Then this got extended to the 2 and 3, then the 4 thru 6. Pretty nice gadgets right?
These gadgets doesn't make any sense if you are afraid the train station some of them 100 years old or more would give up on top of your head. I know you was "wow cool" reading the paragraph above. I believe you forgot the video you just saw. You know what? take another look and come back to THIS paragraph (capitalized was to mark you where you stopped reading to see the video again) see it doesn't make sense. Is like I get on a nice suit, nice tie, groom well but guess what! the hiring manager is wrong I'm not qualified for the job of doctor and I don't even speak English to start with. MTA is planning to increase the fare once again. This is what I heard at that station I said "I can't believe I'm paying for this crappy service" someone else yelled "I can't believe they are planning to increase the fare for this" "this station is a piece of ..." I want to tell you why they need extra money. Here are some bullet points for you.

  • While the boss (average New Yorker) get paid a minimum 7.15-10.00 per hour to start a new job. MTA employees start at 18 per hour.
  • MTA offer ridiculous benefits including excessive paid days off and get this, they would pay days even months off if an MTA employee get spat on. While in the street that would spark a fight, in the MTA would spark a bunch of calls for vacations. They get "traumatized" and have to be taken off service while they get paid ridiculous money.
  • MTA hires an auditor for over a million dollars to overview their health care plan and eventually cut service to many relatives of employees
  • MTA focus work on the second avenue line which would aleviate the congestion at Lexington avenue but nearly abandon the rest of the system. Disagree? go check the video again
Let start from the beginning and I would highlight the second and third bullet on this paragraph. This article from Amny actually shocked me big time. While the United states struggle with lack of job, some jobs don't have sick leave and many others reduce benefits. MTA actually allow a mostly 200 pounds man or tough woman get away with this. I work hard for my money and if I spend it on something, err transit, transit better work hard for me. If I were to spit on one of those individuals in the street I would get into a big fight, they would respond. If I spit on them while they have the MTA uniform on they would likely lock the bus so I don't escape, call the supervisor, I get jail time and this individual get house time.
Friend: "Jerry why you are not working?"
Jerry: "I'm traumatized"
Friend: "Did you crash someone on the tracks?"
Jerry: "No, some idiot spat on my face I need time out"
Sounds like a joke but that's the reality, a shameful reality, some are getting paid for offering no service for a cause not so serious. 191 days off! Are you kidding!! this is one reason why they had to cut other employees "to save money" this is why that station is deteriorating. That station in particular was closed for 6 consecutive weekends and 4 other separate weekends for repairs. The station finally opens and well, we all know the results. That day in particular and probably today too since is pouring outside the E train which runs on 8th avenue was re-routed to sixth avenue from west 4th street to Roosevelt Avenue, the same with the A and C line because water fell onto the A,C, and E tracks on West 4th street as well. Of course there's lack of money these people are resting in their homes and getting paid for no work, they are not producing for the company. I agree with MTA saving some money but criminalizing their own employees is not right. This other article on AMNY over MTA was my second top hated all times. You hire a $1 million dollar auditor to cut health care to some people they thought wont qualify including wife or husband of employees and retired. I believe that health care is the number one thing that should stand. I believe that if you are the only working spouse the company should cover that unemployed spouse. Why? with health care the working and non working spouse get faster medical attention. Less time out for the working spouse which mean more production for the company. This measure of the MTA was criminal and negligent and they should stop it.

PRESIDENT VICTOR M PLAN OF ACTION :)

  • First thing I would do is look at the current needs and see if I need to hire new employees. I would definitely cut hires for about 5 to 7 years.
  • Cut my salary and other executive salaries
  • Cut down salary to those employed over 10 years by a 5%
  • Hires under 10 years would gradually decrease their salary until they end up at minus 3 dollars per hour
  • Freeze all salary increase for 5 to 7 years
  • Don't acquire any new gadget during this stage
  • Cut all those cry babies with a 45 days notice
  • Keep fares as they are
  • By year four hire temporary electricians and construction workers to aid the rehabilitation of the stations. This stage I would call it growth... You know why the MTA have no money? paying too much money to the employees and having too many lazy people around. Having temporary people working with the possibility of going full time is cheap and likely would advance work fast thank to the fact they want to show they are worth the position
  • By year eight I would resume acquiring new gadgets, restore the salaries to the old status and gradually increase salaries to where they were supposed to be by this date.
  • Survey the working force and see if I need new workers at $16 an hour no longer 18 an hour.
The whole purpose is have a descent service in nice looking stations, have it affordable so that mean it would call more riders. I know there are some people that don't ride the subway because it looks like a moving trash can. Doesn't matter how much money you make, nothing can beat a low price ride from the last of Queens to lower Manhattan with no traffic congestion.
MTA is planning to accelerate works on a new subway line in the largest transit system of the world when they can't even handle the existent lines. Basically abusing of the New Yorker offering us low quality services and increasing prices.

See you all in two Thursdays

Education, what you say you have or what people see you have?

Yes I know, this happened a week ago. Hey still hot!! damn Gay marriage legislation here in New York is the new trend. Anyway when this happened I was working on my past Entry "inside or outside what's the real matter that counts" thanks for your overwhelming support on that entry. Well I have to admit I pushed the envelope a little promoting this entry. Hard to believe in a single day in less than 4 hour you guys visited that entry 23 times. Taking down the all the ones that were all time leader. Well at least they still show in the lower part of this blog.
Well, I hardly post in between, this is supposed to be one week, then one week rest and then publish again. But bear with me with this brand new entry I couldn't let this one go by.
Education is always a big issue for families, they want their kid to attend the best schools, they want their kids to be professionals, they want their kids to be an example to follow. Every parent want that. I bet you want that. Even if you don't have kids yet I bet you want the best for them when you have them, if that's what you want, continue going to school (if you are a student) and make yourself an example to follow. As a parent I bet you are checking your kid's activities on the computer if your children left this open, let me tell you that  your son/daughter is plugged to the worst blog in the world pass this around to your neighbors. But seriously I believe you want the best for your children.
However there's one thing we miss. Lately parents are becoming lazy, they drop kid after kid, so many that they can't even handle. I believe there's a limit for everybody. My grandma Cristina had 11 all of them really good people well educated. But there are people that bring three maybe four and half of them are a disaster, they don't educate them properly hoping school will give them the education they need. Well I got news for you, school is full of parents just like you teaching (not taking nothing away from good teachers including my own who might be reading this right now) I got news for you. The parents left their kids to teach Math and reading not to do your work. Then you start complaining "Who the $#$ taught this to my son?" Well I have your answer, street, other kids, you name it.
I believe that when you have education, education should flow out of you, shows thanks to maturity and the way you react to certain issues, how that person handle him/herself in public, choice of words. There's not math, Science that teach you that. A month after I released this entry I ( I edit when I launch it in Spanish) I participated in a program to train to be better at customer services. It worked this way, we would read something then we would talk in open discussion about it. While walking home with a classmate she approached me and told me that I'm a little confusing, I talk too mature but I look young. Her surprise was when I revealed my age I'm indeed young. I didn't tell her the schools I went to, I didn't tell her of my training. I'm speaking about it here just to tell you the story. Education is something that start in the family, inside the house. If school was all the education we need, then my grand father would be the least educated man you would know of. He only finished 2nd grade and his family is extensive and well educated and knew how to socialize, if I he was alive you wont believe that man had so little school education he only learned to read and basic math and that was all. My father finished the sixth grade was awarded the eight grade but never attended for many issues not exactly because he wasn't looking to amount to something. But I assure you if I put my father in front of you in a suit and with a briefcase. As a matter of fact just his regular clothing, many successful educated people didn't use a suit at all (example A L Williams), the way he express himself, the way he handles himself you would think he's a college educated man. However he will show you his level of education when you assuming he's a college educated man start talking of stuff only someone with a level over High School would answer. My father hasn't get kicked out of a train, car, bar unlike this woman.
After reading this statement I believe the question here is, What's the real education is it in a school or a family? It doesn't matter where you graduate from if your family didn't educate you well you will be a complete animal. These two men I previously spoke about never knew the feeling of graduating but they learned to be disciplined, so much that when they got to school, they quickly absorbed a lot of information that they used for the rest of their lives. That woman up there is full of knowledge but zero education and consideration.
I started two paragraphs above saying: that education should blossom from you, people would see it. This is the one big problem with some "educated people" they see you working with transportation, parking, cleaning, etc and they tend to diminish you, they tend to talk too much crap about their skills, they tend to open their mouth too loud about the school they went to. By the way that should be on the resume not the conversation. I even joked on one comment on that article saying "I'm surprised this wasn't my cousin" hurts but I think there's one of those in every family. Someone capable of throwing you her resume during a family reunion. Imagine how uncomfortable is saying "hey is my cousin" that's embarrassing you publicly. The surprise for the doctor who insulted the cleaning lady, how meaningless she is. Two years later she get the shocker that the new sensation of the hospital is a lady that graduated with honors and happen to be the former cleaning lady. Or that the "meaningless" cleaning lady is retiring because she accomplished her goals, the reason she is retiring is because her children finished college and one is the new doctor in the hospital. Never judge nobody you never know how it would hit you later on. Education should be recognized. The fact that you are educated don't give you the right to literally throw up your resume on top of people. I believe is either insecurity (the need to show you are better than somebody else) or lack of education.
Some "educated people" feel the need to barrage their entire career and instead of helping you sometimes they prefer to try to put you in ridicule. Well is the same with these three army guys hiding with a AK47. One these guys was given one a tank, the other one placed on a Gatling, the other was seen incapable of operating a Warcraft equipment or even surviving. These two went on a rampage. Only that something failed, the guy in the tank ran into a mined camp, the guy on the Gatling gun got a grenade, while the one with the AK47 survived. Sometimes is not what you have what matters but how you use it. Have a lot of experience, "education" but don't know how to deal with people. You are dead meat. I wish I was working where this woman works just to enjoy the daily jokes on this video. I'm sorry I should be neutral. Anyway I would enjoy that, wont you? sometimes you think you are immune but in fact your are not, you are rotting. This is the problem I see with "educated people". You are educated? show you are educated, someone with less education would look at you and emulate you. I think that make a better society.
" After the altercation, the conductor came on the loudspeaker and reminded people to keep conversations quiet, "especially those people who went to Harvard or Yale or are from Westport."     Liz Goodwin Yahoo news
Yes you guess right, she was the joke of the whole train trip which is what happen when you try to ridicule people who have done nothing to you.  It hit you right back making you the laugh of an entire nation. In these Youtube times.
My uncle T. H. say all the times "I get to places, you see people oh I know this I know that, while I stand there like if I don't know nothing. I don't need to let people know what I know because they didn't ask me. I'm there just seeing people's knowledge acting like I don't know nothing and trying to see if there's anything else for me to learn. But if I'm asked to demonstrate what I know, run for cover." I believe I'm done with this entry. I don't think there's anything else to say.

By the way lady, quiet on the train PLEASE

Limitations to other's vision

"Every man takes the limits of his own field of vision for the limits of the world."
Arthur Schopenhauer
I remember posting on my facebook page this quote that was May this year. I immediately received many comments from my friends and some messages asking me about this quote what do I think it means. It sounds mean, omg this is a so depressing quote etc.
I'm gonna tell you something, I don't know that in deep what it means neither. But everybody have their own version on this quote. Originally published in the studies on pessimism. To be honest I haven't read that probably would take a look at it sometime even though I want nothing to do with pessimism.
Sometimes we do stuff and usually compare to what others have done. It's very normal to see a very successful lawyer and his/her children become lawyers, it comes to a generation that they just do it. They don't have passion for that but is all they know because dad did it, grandpa did it. Also is very normal seeing farmers staying farmers, rich grow even more rich the poor gets more poor. WHY? well the rich found a secret that they can transfer to their children lucky them. With the time they apply their improve over what they had and you know that's more money.
The poor on the other hand would stay there, hey dad worked everyday in the factory and raised me at least he raised me, yes I want to go to Disney, Hawaii but that's just fantasy I know my feet would not go to those places there's no way I can get there with the money I get but this is all I can do what do you want me to do, steal?
And that's the problem I see, well now I see it. I recently had the opportunity to listen to Earl's Nightingale's The strangest secret where he defines success as the constant realization of an ideal meaning hey if you are doing what you are doing and you are happy, then you are successful. Ok if that's you this might not be your posting, I'm talking to those that are not happy where they are at. Why you do what you do? why aren't you trying something different?
In the USA we live in a free market economy, you have a skill? then you can make a business out of it, you have an idea, you can make money with it. You are the best in your class best barber, best cook, best hair stylist in town then you can definitely have a lot of clients coming to you looking for your services. The question is why aren't you moving to the next level? Guys right now I'm silent, my brain is talking through my hands, and I'm gonna tell you. I want to move to the next level. Currently I'm full-time entrepreneur starting in my own business supported by a company. I want to move forward and be one of the top in my class. What is stopping you? what is stopping me?
I was born to a lower middle class couple coming from a town where we had no electricity until 1990, roads made out of dirt where you would be happy when rain come so it would wash away the dust out of your house and vehicles wont lift dust for days. But then would curse for so much mud being dragged on your shoes. My grandfather didn't make it past 6th grade, one of them didn't even go to school, my mother finished 8th grade, my father was skipped from 6th to 8th grade but quit. He never had in mind coming to the USA, to us we were just a Dominican family who would live there like everybody else. We ended up in the United states my father came in 91 my mother seven years later my three brothers and I came in 2001. But I grew up to 16 years old in those conditions, I never in my life expected to be part of a big organization, being in position to have my own business. I see how far I've come and you know what I still afraid of taking the next step. I heard from someone in the business I'm in that you don't lose fear, but you learn to manage your fear, work around it. (Raymond Young) I gotta be honest that's blew my mind away because is true. See, doesn't matter what you do, you will always have to look for someone's advice because you have your doubts.
Another reason why people don't go to the next level and this is where the quote comes in to my understanding. People always look for ways to excuse themselves from doing something new, often seeing the failures others had. "this guy tried that and failed" "yeah such and such son tried and he's back to farming we are people of farming not that" I admire the caution of some, but is also a flaw. See, you was made totally different from me, I don't care if you know me and know me so well that you are my brother. We were raised under the same family, but I'm totally different from you. In fact you can find on google video "maintaining a positive attitude" where Les Brown make reference to his twin Brother. TWINS and they still different Les go for all positive don't blow my positive bubble while his brother reads the paper and not leaving away the obituaries.
You were made with unique capabilities that make you different from every single individual in your environment. Yeah you will find similarities with someone but everybody is different. If certain person failed at something, hey doesn't mean you would fail. Only if that's your mindset that's where the quote comes in. If John failed, Marie failed that mean I'm gonna fail too. Well what you don't know is that John and Marie went in for money ignoring the value and their skills, well they probably became good at it with the time. But blinded by money, putting too much pressure on themselves, not doing the right thing. You don't know why they failed. And here you are wanting to do something great with your life but you don't want to because you are afraid of failure, you have fears. Because others have put limitations to you visions, you saw someone crash while trying to reach their dreams. I'm gonna leave now but I would leave you with a question.
and to answer that question I would invite you to read my previous posting in order to answer that question.

What's better trying and probably succeeding, Or never making a move and then live with the wonder of what would have been if I tried?

Should we fire the MTA?

That's the question.
It got me irate an article on yesterday's AM NY talking about how the MTA is planning to increase fares rates. They already decreased services by limiting or eliminating some bus routes. Now they come to us telling us they need more money. The funny thing with the MTA is that even their best move comes out as a bad one.
On the morning of June 28, 2010 when MTA unveiled doomsday; their actual best move failed. They put the M train to run uptown Manhattan (most brooklynites using that route work in that direction) no longer have to stop at Delancey for the F, just keep on sleeping til you get to your stop lol. That failed when West 4th Street caught fire. Instead of sounding the alarm early and send all trains either on the E or R, they continued to push more M trains through their usual course. I had no idea the train was messed up just slow as usual. It takes only 7 minutes between Continental Ave and Roosevelt, that morning took me half an hour to get to Continental, another half an hour between the previously named points. I made it to work at 10:30 AM an hour and a half late. DOES THAT SOUND FAIR MTA?
Based on the service MTA provide, How much should we pay? Me and you reading this might agree that nothing, we take the subway from MTA because they are the only one in the city. So, because they are the only ones, they try to take advantage of that.
Those who didn't have a chance to catch on that article can visit www.amny.com see latest publications and see the July 27 issue on page one. Their statistics say that the average user of the monthly card earns $60, 000 a year, and for this reason they plan to cut the "unlimited" and limit us to 90 rides. Or increase the monthly metrocard to $104.00, eliminate the daily and increase the weekly to $29. It's bad as it is already, they first increased fares to pay for new rides we didn't ask for, and to over kill us they cut services. Just as if things are not bad enough in our public schools the attendance is bad, they also planned to cut the student card. Does it sounds like they want the best for us?
This sound like if your life insurance agent says "you have $600, 000 in coverage for $218 per month" come back later to tell you "Mr client, insure you have become expensive, please pay $220 per month for a 585 K in coverage." and then the same year the same agent come back "We have to increase your premium to $240 while we decrease your coverage to $400, 000" my question is, What do you do with that agent? yeah is exactly what I would do with MTA. MTA is trying to take us as fools, we should not allow that.
AM New York has published a ton of articles on the MTA, one that got me thinking was that one of how much they pay on vacations. These people get more vacation time than anybody. On top that MTA pays double shift, over-time, and vacations to people on vacations, they hire new drivers to take over those on vacations. Let see, average pay is 23 per hour, that's good if is only one driver, they hire a second driver who gets an average of 23 to replace the driver who... Wait, that's an average of $46 an hour for one single spot. Do that sound fair to you?
Further more they give away "recovery time" to those attacked on duty either get spit or slapped... Guys that's wrong these people like you they go out to make a living, some have a nasty attitude, you say hello to them and they act like you asked them for $50 dollars, some are nice and do the work right like that lady on the Q11 going toward the mall. I used to take that bus at 9:30AM on Woodhaven and Jamaica. She makes sure everybody is secure, call the stops ahead, she makes sure pregnant, seniors (no HS seniors lol), disabled are seated before starting the bus. OK I rode out my topic, some are not like her, some have a terrible attitude but no to take it that far. These people you pick them in the street and surely can beat you up or can take a beating, they get spit on the but and they get "traumatized", they get slapped and well you go to jail and they go on paid vacations and psychologist which add up more. WHO PAY THE BILL? we do
I love the new rides, but I think they should have find the way to fix the system, make it work on time before adding up stuff they were not sure they would pay.
WE HAVE TO SHOW THE MTA WHO IS THE BOSS. Remember when the MTA went on strike? causing the city tremendous loss because some of us didn't make it to work on time. Guys that's so wrong, made them look like they are the boss. Let me ask you something, Who pay you? your boss right, or you get paid from some business you have. Who pay them MTA? us right, so if the boss pay the employee and we pay to the MTA what does that make us? exactly we are the boss. Imagine if the city come together and decide no to use MTA but other transportation means, how about those who can't afford it call vacations at the same time. MTA still have to pay their workers, and have to run their vehicles "in case" someone decide to come out of the strike. Will that result in loss to MTA? yes. MTA should learn to treat us better.

I heard something about stopping Microsoft from becoming a monopoly, why do we allow MTA become one? They are the largest Transit system in the world yet the most deficient. What's the point of being so large when you can't serve at all. I look at NJtransit, these trains say I'd be there at x hour x minutes, they are mostly on time or late for a minute, the bus is about the same, the train station stream some relaxing music while you wait, as well as some interruption on the music to give you announcement that I can understand. I hate when I miss the 7 AM Saturday train to Morristown though. I have to wait one hour to get it again. But not running away from my topic, I meant NJtransit is small system compared to MTA (combining LIRR and Metro North) yet they are far more efficient (up to what I see) IF WE ARE THE EMPIRE STATE OF THE WORLD with some many billionaires, why don't they come together and start their own transit system? Why MTA is allowed to bear NYCT? Does that mean they will be the only ones? If so, why is Screwdential err PRUDENTIAL, METLIFE, NILICO, NBL allowed to do business in the same state where New York Life do business? hey they carry NY on their name if MTA must be the only one because of the NYCT thing, that mean those life insurance companies shouldn't because NYL is in NY and carry NY on it name.

Here are some swing and misses from MTA
  • "please get off through the rear door" awesome the bus instruct me to use the back door to get out. How come I have to yell to the driver to open the back door?
  • G train to Court SQ at all times. Awesome, now anybody riding the train late nights have to take the G, then E then R. In the better case wait for just one train instead of 2 That's genius MTA
  • Let no talk about eliminating buses please
  • LOONG wait for the second avenue line. Knowing MTA they will be done past 2016 as a matter of fact sorry to tell you this guys but some of you reading this might not live to see that line working. Hopefully the time machine become a reality and someone come from the future to show it to you.
  • Lets no talk about eliminating some cleaning crew please.
  • Cutting monthly cards to 90 rides, eliminating 1 day and 7 days cards and possibly the 14 days cards: Well let me tell you something, you can increase to $104 and people still buy it. But some like me might use more than 90 trips because of the work we do. Either sales person, messenger, etc. Others don't use 90 trips at all. Plus is possible we don't get transfers on that card. Eliminating the single day, 7 days and 14 days is stupid first this is a tourist city some come to the USA stop in NY for a day and use the one day pass to travel through the city, number two still stupid specially if you are planning to limit the monthly card. What if we run out of passes we need a shorter term to complete the month don't you think MTA?
  • Thinking of removing student cards
  • The train still arrives late even though it tells you is coming in one minute shows up in two
  • Removing station's crews which mean more people urinating on public space example a bench on 28 street on the 6 train, people trying to sell swipe, vandals damaging machines so they sell you a swipe, and families left without income. Bravo MTA I love you
GOOD MOVES
  • I might say the second avenue subway will ease the overcrowded Lex avenue line
  • Upper East Side Access
  • M train from Queens through Brooklyn, through Manhattan to Queens again. Well it supplies the stops the V used to run and the full time stops of the original M train. Sorry belt pkway riders. I think you have to stick with messed up F train. I forgot to include the slow this train is on the misses of the MTA
  • Tap and go could work, if they create a monthly pass, and the privilege to transfer like we do with metrocards. Some people swipe either too fast or too slow causing halt on lines to turnstile on busy stations in the morning
  • Card fare: Well I favor this for environmental reasons. The MTA should e mail to those in their database instructions on how to refill their cards, as well as have booklets on their stations explaining the process. By the way, MTA crew on the booth would forget how to refill a card don't ask them. Applying a dollar fare on a new card purchase will help you to cherish your card and don't throw it away. Just like you do with your laundry card. Bravo MTA!
  • R 160
  • The clock now shows when the train will arrive still need a lot of work though
  • Bus only lane

The whole point is. What are we paying for?
